
Acting as the Contractor’s Water Pollution Controls Manager, John was responsible for developing the WPCP, designing interim and final erosion control plans, overseeing the installation of BMP’s, and project reporting for this emergency CalTrans Project. The project is located at US Highway 101, Mile Post -9.3/9.9 – Sem Lane and O’Neill Slough, Belmont, CA 94002. The storm drain system, at two (2) separate site require pipe cleaning, slip lining, and form work for new structures. Currently the storm system is full of sediment and does not adequately conveying storm water from US Highway 101 system to the slough. A new flap gate will also be installed at one of the site to prevent runoff from being directed onto the highway. The intent of this emergency project consists of restoring the storm drain pipe and the outfalls to the original operation capacity by removing the sediment, and additionally slip lining one of the pipes to provide additional capacity to the pipe and support additional functionality. The proposed structures will be installed per Caltrans standard details, the performance of the work in this emergency project consists of cleaning the storm pipes, slip lining, and placement of cast in place concrete structures.
